"Still Not Black Enough" continues Blackie's journey of self searching from where he left with "The Crimson Idol". This album is really black. "Crimson" was personal but told in someone else's perspective (Jonathan). This time there's no story where to hide one's feelings. "Still.." has a very direct approach lyrical wise. Nice album, but feels a bit like mixed bag. Some songs feel strangly out of place if not fillers. There are typical moody songs like the title track, "Black Forever", "Scared to Death" and "No Way Out of Here" but also two standard rock'n'roll songs "Someone to Love" and "Rock and Roll to Death", and two very good but tender ballads "Keep Holding On" and "Breathe".

Standout tracks: "Still Not Black Enough" and "No Way Out of Here".
