Synopsis:
The year is 1215. King John of England (Paul Giamatti) has been forced to sign the Magna Carta. Furious, he recruits an army of ruthless mercenaries who begins to raze the country to restore absolute monarchy. Just a group of gentlemen gathered by Baron Albany (Brian Cox) and entrenched in the castle of Rochester stands between him and victory. With them, Marshall (James Purefoy), a Templar knight tormented by guilt about the atrocities committed during the Crusades, and mercenaries who are among Beckett (Jason Flemyng) and the young Guy (Aneurin Barnard). In the midst of the battle, Marshall also must deal with their burgeoning feelings for Isabel (Kate Mara), the beautiful lady of the castle and the wife of Reginald de Cornhill (Derek Jacobi).

Sinopsis:
Corre el año 1215. El rey Juan I de Inglaterra (Paul Giamatti) se ha visto obligado a firmar la Carta Magna. Tan solo un grupo de caballeros reunidos por el barón Albany (Brian Cox) y atrincherados en el castillo de Rochester se interpone entre él y la victoria. Junto a ellos, Marshall (James Purefoy), un caballero templario atormentado por la culpa ante las atrocidades que cometió durante las cruzadas, y unos mercenarios entre los que se encuentran Beckett (Jason Flemyng) y el joven Guy (Aneurin Barnard). En medio de la batalla, Marshall deberá lidiar además con sus florecientes sentimientos hacia Isabel (Kate Mara), la hermosa señora del castillo y esposa de Reginald de Cornhill (Derek Jacobi).
