Top Cat! The most effectual Top Cat! Whose intellectual close friends get to call him T.C. (providing it's with dignity). Top Cat! The indisputable leader of the gang. He's the boss, he's a pip, he's the championship. He's the most tip top, Top Cat. Yes he's a chief, he's a king, but above everything, he's the most tip top, Top Cat.

The central character, Top Cat — called T.C. by close friends, "providing it's with dignity" as the lyrics of the theme song say — is the leader of a gang of New York City alley cats: Fancy-Fancy, Spook, Benny the Ball, The Brain, and Choo Choo. Top Cat and his gang were inspired by characters from the popular situation comedy The Phil Silvers Show. It has also been said that the Bowery Boys influenced the show. Maurice Gosfield, who played Private Duane Doberman on The Phil Silvers Show, also provided the voice for Benny the Ball in Top Cat (Benny's rotund appearance was based on Gosfield too). Arnold Stang's voicing of Top Cat strongly resembled Phil Silvers' voice as well.

A frequent plotline revolved around the local NYPD(although it's never mentioned that Dibble is a New York cop) policeman, Officer Charles "Charlie" Dibble, and his ineffective attempts to evict the gang from the alley. The only reason that he wanted to be rid of them was that Top Cat and his gang were constantly attempting to earn a quick dollar—usually through an illegal scam. Dibble's appearance was modelled on Allen Jenkins who did his voice. The name Dibble has passed into the vernacular as slang for police officers.

How to watch a UKB KVCD:

If you wish to View on your PC then use a media player called VLC IPB Image
which supports Cue and Bin format movies, but be warned, this and
Windows Media Player have been known to show incorrect movie runtimes
i.e. 37 minutes when the movie is actually 2 hours long.

You can download the VLC media player from www.videolan.org but it's NOT
recommended to view KVCD's on your PC as they're specifically encoded
to view on your standalone DVD Player and TV. If you are planning on
watching on your PC then please don't moan about quality as you have
been warned. If you wanted to watch on you PC then you've downloaded
the wrong release, You want a DIVX or XVID version so I'll say it
one more time, don't moan about quality as you have been warned.

To burn to disc using Nero just right click on the cue file which
will be the smallest of the 2 then choose Open With and browse to
your Nero.exe (possibly just called Nero) file. (Located in Program
Files / Ahead / Nero folder) Ensure the *Always use the selected
program to open this type of file* box is ticked, this way next time
all you have to do is double click the cue file and the burning
interface will open, now choose which speed you would like to burn
your disc at. It's recommended to burn at no more than 8x, Or 10x if you
burn at a faster speed this may impair the quality and make the
