Tortured Soul's sound and style are a unique blend of seeming contradictions. While playing a style of music typified by DJ's and modern music technology, they perform completely live, in simple and organic instrumentation: live drums, vintage keys, electric bass and soulful vocals. They've amazed crowds in DJ-driven dance venues around the world like Fabric (London) and Zouk (Singapore), yet they've proven equally adept at rocking live clubs and festival audiences, such as the 10,000-plus crowds of the Montreal International Jazz Festival and the UK's Big Chill. They craft a forward-thinking sound, while their signature white shirts and black ties throw a nod to the jazz and soul masters of the past.

On "Introducing," Tortured Soul serves up a platter of soulful, up-to-the-minute underground grooves that straddle the fence between acid jazz and deep house. The songs are now, but with a timeless quality that invokes the best of 70's soul, disco and funk. Tortured Soul songs have simplistic hook-laden lyrics, dreamy/summery melodies and great instrumentation, blended to achieve a full sound and winning compositions that are instantly memorable.
